GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES GROUP, GENERAL ELECTRIC AND EUTELSAT JOIN FORCES TO CONTROL ENERGY DISTRIBUTION IN WEST AFRICA

GLOBAL Technologies Group signs a multi-year service contract with Eutelsat to provide the broadband Internet connectivity it needs to support communications for the WAPP project (interconnecting the power grids of 14 West African countries).

The GLOBAL Technologies Group was entrusted with the telecommunications part of the project.

Jean-Paul Steinitz, said:

“In order to support WAPP in its vision to promote and develop electricity generation and transmission infrastructure in West Africa, we have partnered with Eutelsat. In this way we were able to exploit the prime capacity available on its EUTELSAT 10A satellite. Thanks to Eutelsat’s reliable and cost-effective satellite coverage in the region, GLOBAL Technologies has been able to provide a quality telecoms infrastructure to link the countries
WAPP, and provide cheaper access to electricity for millions of people”.
